Gentle Readers .. Happy New Year.

I hope you’ve been well and have welcomed in the new year with joy and resolution for a happy and fulfilled 2019. Since last writing six months have passed. I’ve missed the adventure of daily walking but have been busy with my pens and at my easel, remembering some of the highlights of my walk by creating paintings and drawings. It’s been a departure for me from my familiar still-lives and portraits and it’s posed something of a technical challenge at times. But then I do like a challenge. All the pieces are now dry and framed ready to be hung at Sydney’s ARO Gallery in February.

If you happen to be in Sydney on Valentine’s Day and fancy celebrating with a glass of pink fizz, please do call in for the opening of the show between 6 and 8pm. My fellow artist and companion along the Great Glen Way, Sophie Dalgleish, and I will both be there. We should love to welcome you. If you’re unable to come along on the 14th then please do drop by any time over the following two weeks .. details above. If on the other hand, you’re super keen to see the works ahead of the show we can easily arrange a private viewing. To see all the works from the show please visit our websites: www.julesforth.com and www.sophiedalgleish.net.

They’re small works and all of mine take their inspiration from the walk. They are a combination of oil paintings on linen and pen drawings on watercolour paper. We barely need to say that they will last longer than your traditional Valentine’s bunch of flowers or box of chocs! We very much look forward to having your company.
